Abstract
A new concept of communication, multi-hop wireless networks, has newly appeared as a hopeful and economical design to meet the increased stipulations and prospects of the clients. The enormous data traffic and the requirement for high-speed wireless communication are developing every day correlates to an aggressive enhance in the power consumption by the information and computing technology (ICT) segment. Minimizing power consumption in wireless networks is an exigent task and has concerned the research’s consideration around the world. Several methods like multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), cooperative heterogeneous communication, cognitive radio, and novel network approaches such as scattered antennas, heterogeneous networks, multi-hop communication, etc., also radio and resource management approaches like different sleep mode techniques, cross-layer optimization, and many more have been projected as resolutions for this issue. In this work, the analysis of various approaches to optimize power in cellular networks and MANET from different works is discussed. The green energy techniques as an equivalent to network power to the optimizer power consumption of base stations are also explained.
